ACRO @ F1/10th

In Fall 2024, last semester ACRO helped host and compete in an official F1/10th in collaboration with the Learning to Trust Autonomy Workshop @ CISE. The competition hosted teams from around the nation including UPENN, MIT, and Lehigh.

Research Showcase

Our research on the F1Tenth race car project focused on enhancing autonomous driving capabilities through innovative hardware, simulation environments, and control algorithms. Notably, our Gaussian-based path planning algorithm introduced a dynamic heatmap for real-time obstacle detection and optimal trajectory planning. Despite challenges like system instability and simulation limitations, we achieved strides in real-world reinforcement learning and created a foundation for future advancements in sensor integration, SLAM-based mapping, and autonomous control.
